Joni Forte

Joni Forte has extensive experience in key areas of entertainment including artist booking, events directing, festival production, concert presentation and venue operation. After ten years as an estimator and project manager for a point of purchase display advertising company, where she worked for such clients as Sony, Panasonic, Chanel and Estee Lauder, Joni followed her personal background in music into the field of entertainment.

Since the mid-nineties, Joni has worked as an agent to regional jazz and blues artists, followed by national artists such as Hubert Sumlin, José Feliciano, Electric Light Orchestra II (now The Orchestra), Lesley Gore and others, mainly with World Entertainment Associates.  She booked artists into notable clubs, theaters, PACs and festivals nationally.  She has been a presenter at industry trade shows including the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) in Las Vegas and the Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) in NY, designing booths and showcasing A-list artists.

In 2003, Joni teamed up with the developers in historic Asbury Park, NJ to create and organize events to return people to what was then a defunct boardwalk. Among family festivals, civic, sporting and concert events, Joni introduced her signature Guitarbeque® Festival to Asbury Park.  This multi-day combination of local to national high-end guitarists, with national barbeque competitors and music vendors, was covered as a 30-minute featured segment of the Food Network’s All American Festivals.  Her Jazz and Blues Boardwalk Concert Series won a “Best Of” mention from the Asbury Park Press and she wrote and was awarded a $20,000 grant from the New Jersey Office of Travel and Tourism.  Joni became a member of the City of Asbury Park’s Marketing Committee and went on to direct Convention Hall and Paramount Theatre hosting shows with Bruce Springsteen, The Big Apple Circus, The United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus, Jorma Kaukonen, comedian Kevin James and many more.

Joni has since teamed up with colleague Ben Elliott to produce and direct quality recording and film projects such as their tribute to guitar legend Les Paul, “Thank You Les”, which includes performances and/or interviews with Keith Richards, Steve Miller, Slash, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Eddie Brigati (The Rascals), Nokie Edwards (The Ventures) and more, backed by members of Les Paul’s Trio. “Thank You Les” is the winner of three 12th Annual Independent Music Awards (IMAs) and is being broadcast on select public television stations nationally.
